How long do dermal fillers last?
One of the most common questions concerning fillers is “How long do fillers last?” To understand the answer, we have to consider more than just the physical or chemical properties of the products.
Filler Longevity vs. Results Longevity
This is an important distinction to explore.
Several factors influence how long a filler lasts after injection:
- Filler material
- Filler consistency
- Treatment area
- How fast your body metabolizes fillers
One important thing to keep in mind is that you can enjoy visible facial rejuvenation or contouring results for longer than the duration of the specific filler injected. Here’s why: Filler injections can stimulate collagen production in the treatment area. That means your own body is producing a substance that restores volume in the area. How great is that?
How often do I need to get dermal fillers?
Restylane gel is composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in our bodies, which makes it a fairly natural product with little possibility of an allergic reaction. Restylane tends to stay where it’s put, which makes it ideal for multiple purposes, from filling in smaller areas like fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and lips to adding plumpness to lips and cheeks.
The results of Restylane treatments could last 6-12 months ( and longer!), depending on factors like where it is placed, your body’s metabolism, and so on. You may want to plan for touch-ups every 3-6 months to ensure the best results.
How much do dermal fillers cost?
The average cost is between $500-800 per syringe. However, we often offer specials so be sure to ask your injectionist for special pricing!
